Who Is Bryan Elijah Smith?
Born in 1986, Bryan Elijah Smith is a performing as well recording artist, multi-instrumentalist (vocals, guitar, harmonica, piano, drums, bass & baritone ukulele), manager, producer, mixing/recording/sound engineer, photographer, videographer & magician based out of Dayton, Virginia, USA (more specifically Clover Hill, VA). Smith started singing & songwriting at the age of 18. From October 2008 to March 2009 he lived in NYC writing, recording & performing in Manhattan, Queens & Brooklyn. Before that he worked at War Branch Dairy in Hinton, VA for 6 years milking cows. He has a catalog of over 500 original songs & has released 7 full length albums since 2009. During this time he also co-produced 2008 Telluride Troubadour winner Nathan Moore's 2011 release 'Dear Puppeteer'. His music has been coined 'Alternative Americana'. Smith has toured up & down the East Coast for the past 5 years, toured Australia in the Fall of 2013 & perfomed in Roatan Honduras on Jam Cruise 9 where Glide Magazine voted Nathan Moore & Smith among the top '10 Bands That Crushed on Jam Cruise' and wrote Smith is an 'extremely talented' songwriter. Smith has opened up for Trampled By Turtles & Old Crow Medicine Show on the Dreaming Creek Main Stage at FloydFest X, Langhorne Slim & David Mayfield Parade at The Jefferson Theatre in Charlottesville, VA, Nicki Bluhm & the Gramblers on the Main Stage at The Festy Experience in Roseland, VA and various other renowned artists at venues and festivals up and down the East Coast. NASA recently took notice & used Smith's song 'Pour On Me' for their 2013 'Water Falls' movie trailer & had the honor of performing at the newly renovated & prestigious State Theatre in Culpeper, VA. Smith is set to perform 5 shows in Australia fall 2013 & will be performing on Jam Cruise 14 in January 2014.
